Srinagar, August 28: Security forces have apprehended an alleged terrorist believed to be behind a grenade attack on a CRPF camp earlier this year in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, according to police sources on Thursday.

The arrest occurred late Wednesday during a search operation in Hari Parigam village, located in Awantipora tehsil of the south Kashmir district. The individual taken into custody is Sakib Reyaz Ganie, a resident of Chaki-Cholan in the Shopian district.

"This person was the main suspect in the grenade attack on a CRPF camp at Lariyar on May 20, 2025," stated the official.

Authorities recovered a pistol, a pistol magazine, and seven live 9 mm rounds from Ganie's possession.
