Tenth Arrest in Kaliganj Bomb Blast Case Involving Young Girl's Death

Kolkata, Jul 4 (PTI) The police have apprehended another individual in relation to the tragic death of a young girl in a bomb explosion at Kaliganj, situated in Nadia district of West Bengal, a senior police official announced on Friday.

The recent arrest happened on Thursday night in Palashi, elevating the total number to 10 individuals taken into custody in this case.

Reports indicate that a 13-year-old girl lost her life in Molandi village, Kaliganj, following the alleged hurling of bombs during a Trinamool Congress victory celebration. This celebration occurred prior to the official announcement of the assembly bypoll results on June 23.

Previously, nine people had been detained for their suspected connections to this incident.

"The individual who was arrested in Palashi will appear before a local court on Friday," the official explained.

There are a total of 24 individuals named in the First Information Report (FIR), and efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining suspects.
