Patna, May 27 (PTI) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and his wife were blessed with a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday. Tejashwi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly, shared the joyous news on social media.
"Good Morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!" Tejashwi Yadav posted on X, accompanied by a photograph of the newborn.
According to family sources, Rajshree Yadav was admitted to the private hospital in Kolkata for the past few days before giving birth. Esteemed RJD leader Lalu Prasad and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi made their way to Kolkata, heading straight to the hospital upon arrival at the airport, as informed by party sources.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited to convey her congratulations to Tejashwi Yadav. Speaking to the media outside the hospital, Mamata Banerjee expressed her excitement, "This is incredibly good news... Lalu Ji and Rabri Ji are here, and they are very happy. I wish peace and happiness to Tejashwi's family. With elections nearing in Bihar, my best wishes are with him." Later, Lalu Prasad posted photographs of the infant resting on his lap, warmly captioning, "Proudly welcoming little grandson to our family!"
This marks Tejashwi and Rajshree Yadav's second child, following the birth of their daughter in March 2023. Tejashwi’s sister Rohini Acharya extended her heartfelt congratulations on social media.
"Welcome tutu junior. Today our family welcomes a new member, Bal Gopal Junior Tejaswi. Congratulations to dear sister-in-law Rajshree, brother Tejaswi, Katyayani, and our entire family, including the RJD family. May our family always bask in happiness and may Papa and Maa’s home be filled with laughter... Special congratulations to Papa and Maa," she wrote on X.
Despite recent tensions, Tejashwi’s elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, who was recently ousted from the party by their father Lalu Prasad, expressed delight at becoming 'Bade Papa.'
In Hindi, he noted on X, "With the blessings of Shri Banke Bihari Ji, I am now a 'Bade Papa' with the arrival of the new baby boy. Congratulations to my younger brother Tejaswi and Rajshri Yadav. My blessings and love to my nephew." RJD chief Lalu Prasad had expelled Tej Pratap from the party for six years due to "irresponsible behaviour" and severed family ties with him.
