Patna, Aug 14 (PTI) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has leveled serious allegations against Vaishali MP Veena Devi, a member of the ruling NDA, claiming she possesses two EPIC cards.
The Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly took to the social media platform X, sharing screenshots he says are from the draft electoral rolls released in Bihar during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Veena Devi, a second-term MP, was elected on a Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) ticket, led by Union minister Chirag Paswan.
"She (Veena Devi) is registered as a voter for the assembly seat within her own Lok Sabha constituency and also as a voter in the Muzaffarpur assembly segment under the same parliamentary constituency. Interestingly, her husband, Dinesh Singh, a JD(U) MLC, is also listed as her spouse," Tejashwi noted.
Yadav further alleged that Veena Devi's husband also holds two EPIC cards in two separate assembly constituencies.
Veena Devi allegedly has two EPIC cards—UT01134543 and GSB1037894—allowing her to vote in two distinct Lok Sabha constituencies. The cards purportedly show two different ages, suggesting she filed two separate enumeration forms during SIR, according to Yadav.
Yadav questioned, "During the voter list revision, she must have signed two distinct forms with separate signatures. How could she end up with two votes, two ID cards for different Lok Sabha constituencies, and two ages in the new draft list by the Election Commission?"
He further inquired, "Is this not fraud, manipulation, and collusion by the Election Commission to secure a victory for BJP-NDA?" He added that her husband, a JD(U) MLC, also holds two EPIC cards—REM0933267 and UT01134527—and is registered as a voter in two Lok Sabha seats.
"Is this not electoral fraud by the EC to ensure NDA's victory? Will the EC own up to these irregularities and mistakes in SIR? Will they issue separate notices to Dinesh Singh from distinct places?" Yadav posed.
On Wednesday, the RJD leader also accused senior BJP leader and Muzaffarpur Mayor Nirmala Devi, as well as her two relatives, of "having dual voter ID cards".
