17-Year-Old Attacked with Acid in North Goa

Panaji, Jun 30 (PTI): In a shocking incident on Monday morning, a 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being attacked with acid by assailants on a motorcycle in North Goa district, according to police reports.

The attack occurred at approximately 7:50 am while the boy was waiting for a bus in the Dhargal village for his regular commute to his school in Mapusa town, stated a senior police official.

Suddenly, men on a motorcycle approached and threw acid on him before quickly fleeing the scene, the official added, noting that the motive behind this violent act remains unknown.

Initially, the victim received immediate medical attention at the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim, near Panaji, for further treatment, the official confirmed.

An intensive investigation has been launched by the police to track down and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime, the official assured.
