Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin assured the Assembly on Wednesday that the government's sole focus in the Chennai student sexual assault case is to ensure justice for the victim.

Addressing concerns raised by various parties, including the AIADMK, Stalin condemned the assault as a heinous and unacceptable act. He acknowledged the genuine concern expressed by several MLAs but criticized one member for attempting to create a false narrative against the government.

Stalin firmly stated that the government’s objective is solely to secure justice for the victim according to the law, emphasizing there are no ulterior motives.

He dismissed criticism of the government’s handling of the case, noting that the accused was swiftly arrested within hours and evidence was promptly gathered. Stalin argued that any continued blame is politically motivated and not rooted in genuine concern for the victim.
