As the Taliban completes one year of its takeover of Afghanistan, Afghan foreign minister Abdul Qahar Balkhi asked India to resume development projects that it had started in the country.

Speaking to Indian Express, Balkhi named the Shahtoot Dam in Kabul as one of the many projects that the Taliban wanted India to complete.

India recently reopened its embassy in Kabul, a year after it was shut down, a step welcomed by the Taliban regime.

August 15, which marks one-year rule Taliban, has been declared a holiday but the Taliban regime has kept celebrations low-key restricting them to an official media event.

The main events may take place on September 1, the day the last batch of foreign troops left Afghanistan last year.
