A suspicious improvised explosive device-like object was found on the national highway in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on September 11. The area was cordoned off and traffic movement has been halted on both sides of the highway as J&K Police, the Army and the Bomb Disposal Squad assessed the situation. The threat from the IED has now been averted.
Authorities informed that forces in the Hanjiveera area found the explosive, which had been kept in a bag. The bomb disposal squad was then called to the scene as traffic was cut off from the highway as a precautionary measure, as per the news agency PTI.
