A video of a Dalit woman being beaten by a police man in uniform has sparked outraged.
The purported video shows Inspector Rajkishore Singh beating a woman with a stick in Bihar's Sitamarhi.
The police has, however, countered the allegations of brutality saying that the inspector was trying to maintain order after a fight broke out between two groups in a kidnapping case.
They said a kidnapped girl was rescued and later the two sides engaged in a fight outside the police state leading to chaos and the inspector used his baton to disperse the crowd.
