A BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a minor in 2014. Ramdulare Gond, BJP MLA from the Duddhi Assembly constituency in Sonbhadra district has also been fined ₹ 10 lakh. He now faces disqualification from the UP assembly.
Gond was accused of raping a minor in the November 2014 when he was a village strongman. The minor had told her brother that Gond had been raping her for over a year. He became an MLA afer winning the assembly elections in 2022.
