Delhi Police Arrests Man for Stabbing Teenage Girl in New Mustafabad

New Delhi, Sep 4 — The Delhi Police has apprehended a 24-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a teenage girl in the New Mustafabad area of northeast Delhi, officials reported on Friday.

A distress call was received at the Dayalpur police station from Mangal Bazar Road on Thursday evening. By the time officers arrived at the scene, the injured 18-year-old girl had already been transported to GTB Hospital by her family, a senior police official noted.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment, and her condition is being closely monitored, he added.

The case has been registered under Section 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is in progress, the officer stated.

Through persistent efforts, the accused was located and detained within hours of the incident. He admitted to the crime, and the weapon used, a knife, was recovered from his possession, the officer informed.

A forensic team was called to the crime scene to gather evidence. Further investigation into the alleged incident is ongoing, the officer added.
