Speaking in Lok Sabha, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey recalled that in 2012 Congress leader Sonia Gandhi had grabbed the collar of then Samajwadi Party MP Yashvir Singh during a discussion on reservations in promotions.

Dubey's attack was in response to Sonia Gandhi's criticism that the women's reservation bill introduced by the BJP govt does not propose a quota for OBC women.

He said that Gandhi talks about SC, ST and OBC but she had grabbed the collar of a schedule caste MP.

“In this same House, when V Narayanasamy was presenting a bill on promotional quota for SCs/STs, Samajwadi Party's Yashvir Singh snatched the bill from his hand and tore it down. In this same Parliament, Madam Sonia Gandhi ji was the first to come and hold him by his collar,” Dubey said.

“At that time, I told her you (Gandhi) are not our dictator, not a queen, you cannot resort to violence," said BJP's Nishikant Dubey. "Mulayam Singh himself said the SP MPs would not have survived had the BJP not been there. You tried to kill the MPs," he added.
