Soldier Killed as Army Foils Infiltration in Uri, J&K

Srinagar, August 13 (PTI): A soldier lost his life during a gunfight as the Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported on Wednesday.

Troops effectively stopped the infiltration effort in the Churunda area of Uri, located in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir.

Unfortunately, an Army soldier was killed during the exchange of fire, the officials confirmed.

The operation is still underway, and further information is awaited, the officials added.
