New Delhi, June 25 (PTI) "Yun Hi Chala Chal Raahi, Kitni Haseen Hai Yeh Duniya..." This philosophical road song from the film "Swades" accompanied Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on his historic journey to space on Wednesday.

Shukla has made history as the second Indian to venture into space after Rakesh Sharma in 1984 and the first to set foot on the International Space Station. His achievement has been widely celebrated across India.

Before the launch of SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket, a part of a commercial mission by Axiom Space, the crew shared their specially-curated music playlist on X.

Shukla chose the inspiring "Yun Hi Chala Chal Raahi" from Ashutosh Gowariker's film featuring Shah Rukh Khan, which fittingly revolves around a NASA scientist. The song, penned by Javed Akhtar and composed by A R Rahman, is sung by Kailash Kher, Hariharan, and Udit Narayan.

The rest of the crew also selected tracks for the playlist: Commander Peggy Whitson from the USA chose "Thunder" by Imagine Dragons, Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski from Poland opted for "Supermonce," a Polish track, and Tibor Kapu from Hungary listed "Bvhely," a traditional Hungarian song.

Born in Lucknow, Shubhan-shukla is a celebrated Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot and one of India's Gaganyaan astronauts. SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket successfully lifted off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 12.01 PM IST.
