Shahjahanpur, UP: In a tragic incident, two individuals lost their lives due to electrocution, and three others sustained injuries when a DJ system mounted on a tractor-trolley made contact with an overhead power line, a senior police official reported on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Dwivedi, informed PTI that the unfortunate event occurred on Tuesday night in Kundaliya village as the vehicle driver was en route to his residence.
The driver, Sukhbir (30), and another individual named Jasvir (16), were ejected by the electric shock and subsequently crushed under the tractor's wheels, resulting in their immediate deaths, he stated.
Three others were injured in the incident and have been hospitalized, he added.
The SP mentioned that villagers had pooled donations to procure Ganga water from Kachla in Budaun district for a religious offering at a Patna temple. A tractor-trolley was rented for the occasion, and a DJ system was installed on it as part of the 'kanwar yatra'.
