Sack Mahua Moitra as MP, says parliamentary ethics panel: report

The parliamentary ethics panel has reportedly recommended sacking TMC leader Mahua Moitra as MP over the allegations that she took cash for asking questions in Lok Sabha.

As per a NDTV report citing sources, the panel has prepared a report of about 500 pages.

The committee, which will meet on November 9 to adopt the draft report, is likely to take a grim view of the charges against Moitra, especially after she accused its chief Vinod Kumar Sonkar of asking her filthy questions in the last meeting.

There are indications that the committee may make a recommendation against Moitra in its report to Speaker Birla amid a possibility of dissent notes from opposition members.

PTI sources said the committee is also expected to underline its unhappiness at the conduct of some opposition members during its proceedings and make a mention of it in its recommendations to the House.
