Bhubaneswar, Aug 14 (PTI) The chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, is set to address a religious gathering in Cuttack on Thursday afternoon. He will also meet Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati in Puri later in the day, according to sources.
Bhagwat arrived in the city on Wednesday evening and stayed overnight at the Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti office located in Mancheswar. In a noteworthy meeting, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Bhagwat at the same location late on Wednesday night, with other senior BJP leaders and ministers also in attendance.
The RSS chief is serving as the chief guest at the Gaudiya Vaishnavism Sammilani held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. Later that evening, he will proceed to Puri for a darshan of Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath.
After visiting the temple, Bhagwat is scheduled to meet the Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati at the Govardhan Peeth. His visit to Odisha is expected to conclude on August 15, after which he will depart.
