Palghar, Oct 6 (PTI): In a shocking incident in Maharashtra's Palghar district, the elderly parents and sister of a teacher were grievously injured following an attack by robbers wielding sharp weapons. The robbers escaped with valuables from the family's residence in Arnala village near Virar during the early hours of Monday, as per the police.

The assault occurred around 3 am. Unidentified robbers forcibly entered the house, launching a brutal attack on its three occupants with sharp weapons. In addition to the assault, the attackers ransacked the house before making off with unspecified valuables. The police have yet to determine the precise amount of loss incurred.

Upon being alerted, police personnel from the Arnala and Virar stations promptly arrived at the scene. The victims, who sustained severe injuries in the attack, were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains critical.

The house targeted belongs to Professor Sachin Gowari, a private tutor in Virar. Professor Gowari resides in Aghashi, Virar, with his wife and children, while his parents and sister continue to live at the ancestral home in Arnala.
