Reliance Industries Ltd has decided to retract its trademark application for the term 'Operation Sindoor', a name associated with India's military actions in Pakistan. According to the company, the application was mistakenly filed by a junior employee without the necessary approval. In a recent statement, Reliance clarified that it never intended to trademark 'Operation Sindoor', a term that has become deeply ingrained in the national consciousness as a powerful symbol of Indian valor. The company further explained that Jio Studios, a division of Reliance Industries, has now withdrawn this trademark application, emphasizing that it was submitted unintentionally by an unauthorized junior staff member. Previously, four trademark applications, including the one from Reliance, had been submitted to the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs.
