The probe into the deepfake video of actor Rashmika Mandanna reportedly suffered a setback as US-based tech firms refused to share data.

Citing sources in Delhi Police, the Indian Express reported that despite multiple requests and letters to social media giant Meta and tech company GoDaddy, they have not provided details about the morphed video.

According to the report, Meta accepted police’s first and second appeals seeking information but denied the third time.
A senior police officer said they had detained a man from Bihar and seized his device.

The Delhi Police’s Special Cell had taken up the case on November 10.
