Rajgarh, Jun 19 (PTI): In a devastating incident early Thursday morning, four individuals lost their lives, including two children, and two others were injured when their sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a road divider in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district, according to police reports.
The tragic accident took place at around 7 am as a family was traveling from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh to Surat in Gujarat, informed Inspector Ramesh Jat from Karwas police station.
The driver of the SUV confessed to authorities that he lost control of the vehicle after falling asleep, which led to the SUV crashing into the road divider. The vehicle was carrying seven people at the time of the accident.
Tragically, two women and two children succumbed to the accident’s impact, while two other passengers sustained injuries.
“The driver, identified as Bola, survived with minor injuries as he was wearing a seat belt, which, along with the timely deployment of the airbag, buffered him from major harm,” the official stated. Unfortunately, the deceased included Bola’s wife and sister.
The injured have been rushed to a hospital for immediate medical care, the official further added.
