Amid bone-chilling winter, rain accompanied with thunderstorms lashed the national capital for the second day on February 1.
The heavy downpour that started on Wednesday morning resulted in road blockages and waterlogging.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the weather on Thursday will be similar to that seen a day before. Areas including RK Puram, Safdarjung, INA market, Sarai Kale Khan, and Lodhi colony in Delhi witnessed heavy downpour. Noida and Greater Noida also witnessed heavy rains.
"As regards Western Himalayan Regions (Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) also getting rainfall/snowfall activity and likely to continue during the night and morning hours of today shown in recent satellite imagery," IMD said.
Meanwhile, parts of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarbad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread snowfall and this is likely to continue during the next five days under the influence of the western disturbances.
