Kochi, Oct 15 (PTI) In a tragic development, former Prime Minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga, passed away on Wednesday while undergoing Ayurvedic treatment in Kerala’s Ernakulam district. Authorities reported that Odinga, who had travelled to Koothattukulam for the traditional treatment regime, suffered a cardiac arrest. He collapsed early in the morning during a walk within the Ayurvedic facility premises and was immediately rushed to a private hospital. Despite the medical team's efforts, he was pronounced dead at 9.52 am, as stated by a spokesman for the Ayurvedic eye hospital. Odinga had been a regular visitor to the hospital, where his daughter had previously been treated successfully for vision problems. The police have informed that his body is currently held at the hospital. Necessary protocols are being followed, including notifying the FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office) about his demises as part of the official procedure.
