The State Election Commission has announced the schedule for preparing electoral rolls ahead of the general elections for the Municipal Councils of Tarn Taran (District Tarn Taran), Dera Baba Nanak (District Gurdaspur), and Talwara (District Hoshiarpur), set to take place in early 2025.

State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhuri disclosed that the draft electoral rolls will be prepared between January 20 and January 24, 2025, by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), based on the qualifying date of January 1, 2025. These rolls will be published on January 25, 2025. The window for filing claims and objections will remain open from January 27 to February 3, 2025. The disposal of these claims and objections will be completed by February 11, 2025, and the final electoral rolls will be published on February 14, 2025.

Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers of Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur have been instructed to ensure the draft electoral rolls are made public on January 25, 2025. All eligible residents aged 18 and above are encouraged to apply for inclusion in the voter lists or to file claims and objections within the stipulated timeframe.

The Election Commission has urged residents under the jurisdiction of these three Municipal Councils to register themselves during this period to ensure they can participate in the upcoming elections. Final voter lists, to be published by the respective EROs (SDMs) on February 14, 2025, will determine voting eligibility in the municipal elections.
