In a significant move to enhance the state's school education system, the Punjab School Education Department, on Tuesday, conducted a one-day training and interaction program with experts from the University of Turku, Finland. The session, held at MGSIPA, saw the participation of 296 government primary school teachers.
S. Harjot Singh Bains, Minister of School and Higher Education, Punjab, highlighted that the program follows the success of the first batch of 72 teachers who underwent a three-week training program in Finland. The initiative, organized under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, provided orientation to 273 primary teachers and 23 DEOs (Elementary).
The program aims to equip educators with effective teaching techniques for primary schools, enabling them to better address the current challenges in the education system. Minister Bains emphasized that the training would enhance the teachers’ ability to create engaging and stress-free learning environments, fostering the holistic development of students.
The session featured insights from Finnish experts Mr. Ari Kioski, Ms. Mirjami Einola, and Ms. Sari Isokytö-Sinjoi. Kamal Kishor Yadav, Secretary of School Education, extended a warm welcome to the trainers and expressed gratitude for their role in the initiative. He remarked that the program would empower teachers to adopt innovative methods, transforming classrooms into joyful spaces for learning.
Special Secretary School Education Mr. Churchil Kumar, Director SCERT Ms. Amaninder Kaur Brar, and other senior officials of the department also attended the event, underscoring the Punjab Government's commitment to elevating the state's education standards to global levels.
