Punjab Health System Corporation (PHSC) and Hans Foundation Dehradun inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for providing free-of-cost dialysis facility to the needy patients in the state.
The MoU was signed between Nodal Officer for Dialysis Programme Dr Rupinder Singh Gill and Group Senior Manager from Hans Foundation Seema Singh in the presence of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh here on Tuesday.

Managing Director PHSC Varinder Kumar Sharma and Director PHSC Dr Anil Goyal were also present on the occasion.

Dr Balbir Singh said that under this MOU the Hans Foundation will be providing trained medical officers and other staff, consumables, dialysis machines and RO plants to the department and will supervise the functioning of these centres.

“Initially, the foundation will establish dialysis centres at 10 Government Facilities and needy patients will be able to avail dialysis facilities at free of cost,” he said, while adding that more such dialysis facilities will be established in future.

Meanwhile, this initiative of the Punjab Government and Hans Foundation will not only provide free of cost dialysis facility to poor and needy patients but also reduce the travel distance.
