In a remarkable effort to uplift women and empower them economically, the Punjab Government, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann, organized three Mega Placement Camps for women in Hoshiarpur, Barnala, and Sri Muktsar Sahib districts. These camps resulted in the selection of 1,223 women for placements, while 50 women were shortlisted for self-employment assistance.
These camps, spearheaded by Minister Aman Arora of Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, drew over 2,800 participants and saw the participation of 41 major employers, including industry giants Microsoft and IBM. The event, which facilitated job placements and digital skill development, aligns with CM Bhagwant Mann's mission of creating opportunities for women and boosting the state's employment rates.
In collaboration with the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, the camps highlighted the government's commitment to women’s empowerment and skill development. Notably, the camps also provided self-employment assistance, further promoting financial independence among women.
Minister Aman Arora praised the collaboration between the departments, emphasizing that these camps represent a one-stop solution for employment, self-employment, and skill enhancement, thus creating a brighter future for Punjab’s women.
The success of the event was further underlined by the presence of prominent leaders, including Lok Sabha MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and Punjab Minister Ms. Baljit Kaur, who emphasized the transformative impact these initiatives will have on Punjab’s prosperity and women’s empowerment.
