In a significant move to empower Punjab’s youth, the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Raina Education Foundation to upskill over 10,000 young individuals across the state. This strategic partnership, witnessed by Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister, Mr. Aman Arora, is set to bolster Punjab's workforce, equipping them with essential skills for the evolving job market.

The MoU, signed by PSDM's Mission Director, Ms. Amrit Singh (IAS), and Shveta Raina, Head of Raina Education Foundation, marks a pivotal step in the Punjab government’s continued efforts to enhance employability and foster entrepreneurship among the state's youth. With Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann at the helm, the government has consistently prioritized youth empowerment, and this initiative aligns with his vision for a skilled, job-ready workforce that meets industry demands.

Minister Aman Arora emphasized the government's commitment to creating sustainable employment opportunities, stating, "This partnership is a testament to our ongoing efforts to prepare Punjab's youth for future career endeavors and economic development. By aligning with the Raina Education Foundation, we are advancing towards our goal of fostering a dynamic and skilled workforce in Punjab."

The initiative will be executed through a hybrid model, combining online and offline elements, and will be offered free of charge to all participants. Initially, 10,000 eligible candidates will be selected, with the top 1,000 undergoing group mentoring and intensive training. From this pool, the top 500 will have access to an online platform and assessment tools, leading to the selection of the top 100 for internships and job placements. The program also includes micro-internships for hands-on experience, personalized mentorship, mock interviews, and continuous support via a dedicated app.

Ms. Amrit Singh highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating, "Our joint efforts with the Raina Education Foundation will not only assess and train candidates but also prepare them for the dynamic job landscape. We are dedicated to enhancing the employability and entrepreneurial skills of Punjab's youth, ensuring they are well-equipped to seize emerging opportunities."

With this forward-looking initiative, the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann is setting a new benchmark in youth empowerment and skill development, paving the way for a prosperous future for the state's young population.
