Punjab government declares holiday on June 1

In a significant announcement, the Punjab Government declared June 1, 2024, as a holiday in light of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

A circular issued by the government stated, "General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024 will take place in Punjab State on 01.08.2024 (Saturday)."

Accordingly, June 1, 2024, has been designated as a gazetted holiday under the Negotiable Instrument Act-1881 for Government Offices/Boards/Corporations/Educational Institutions situated in the State of Punjab.

Notably, Punjab residents will cast their votes in the final phase of voting on June 1, with the results set to be declared on June 4.
