Reaffirming its commitment to honoring freedom fighters and their families, Punjab’s Cabinet Minister for Freedom Fighters, Mohinder Bhagat, led a high-level meeting with senior officials to review existing welfare initiatives and outline future plans for their well-being.

The Minister highlighted that the state government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, remains dedicated to safeguarding the dignity and interests of freedom fighters and their dependents. He instructed officials to ensure their concerns are addressed on priority in government offices.

During the meeting, Special Chief Secretary of the Department of Freedom Fighters, Raji P. Srivastava, provided an overview of various welfare schemes. Key discussions also included plans to honor freedom fighters at public events and the establishment of a formal protocol for paying tributes on their death anniversaries.

The Minister directed officials to accelerate these efforts, ensuring that all eligible families receive government benefits without any delays.

Among the key attendees were Secretary, Department of Freedom Fighters, Gagandeep Singh Brar, Joint Secretary Lovejeet Kalsi, Superintendent Suman Lata, and other senior officials.
