A team from the Customs Department seized gold worth lakhs of rupees from inside a flight that arrived from Shahjahal at Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport in Amritsar. According to reports, smugglers had cleverly concealed the gold underneath a sink in the flight's restroom, along with an electronic device. However, they couldn't evade the scrutiny of the Customs Department.

Prior to this incident, two kilograms of gold were also seized from inside a flight originating from Arab countries, raising questions once again about airport security.
