Amritsar police arrest one, seize 4kg methamphetamine and 1kg heroin

In a breakthrough, Amritsar Police on May 3 unearthed trans-border narcotic smuggling network by apprehending one person and seizing 4kg  Ice (Methamphetamine) & 1 Kg Heroin. 

Sharing more information, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav in a post on 'X' said drone were used to transport drugs from Pakistan-based drug smugglers.

 

Further, an FIR under NDPS Act has been registered at SSOC Amritsar and investigations are on-going to establish backwards & forward linkages. 

Earlier, over five kilograms of heroin and a box of ammunition were recovered by the BSF and the Punjab Police near the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar on May 2.
