Chandigarh, Sep 19 (PTI) — In a significant development, the Punjab Police announced on Friday that they have dismantled a drug supply network and apprehended two individuals involved in smuggling.

Authorities claim to have seized four kilograms of heroin from the possession of the two alleged smugglers.

“This operation marks a critical strike against narco-terror networks. The Sri Muktsar Sahib Police successfully broke up a drug supply network, arresting two smugglers and seizing 4 kg of heroin from them,” stated Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, in a post on X. This achievement followed a carefully planned, two-month-long operation based on confidential sources.

A case has been filed, and investigations are underway to reveal the complete network, including its forward and backward connections, he added.
