Meanwhile, in Haryana, Karnal saw 9 mm of rain, Narnaul 28.5 mm, Rohtak 17.4 mm, and Nuh received 2 mm. Haryana is also grappling with waterlogging and flooding in various areas.

On Thursday, the toll from the devastating floods in Punjab increased to 43, with crops spread over 1.71 lakh hectares damaged.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited flood-affected regions in Punjab on Thursday to evaluate the extent of crop damage. He termed it a 'jal pralay' (deluge), assuring farmers that the central government would make every effort to support them in overcoming this crisis.

Chouhan visited flood-hit areas in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Kapurthala districts, engaging with the local population, including farmers severely impacted by the floods.

He mentioned that two central teams are currently in Punjab to assess the flood situation. These teams will subsequently submit reports to the central government.
