Women's reservation bill gets nod in key cabinet meeting

The Union Cabinet has reportedly cleared a bill proposing the reservation of 33% of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies, NDTV reported. 

Although the government is yet to make an official announcement.

The massive development comes soon after a key cabinet meeting called by PM Modi concluded in New Delhi.

The Centre even skipped the customary briefing following the cabinet meeting. 

Earlier in the day, PM Modi had hinted towards a historic decision that will be taken during the special session.
