Weeks before Karnataka polls, senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa resigns from politics

Senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa has announced his decision to not contest the upcoming Karnataka assembly polls.

"I am withdrawing from electoral politics, out of my own will and wish", the MLA from Shivamogga said in a letter to BJP president JP Nadda, according to NDTV. 

This may have been a preemptive move by Mr Eshwarappa, who had hinted last month that he may be dropped as a candidate,
