Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met incumbent Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav soon after the Supreme Court delivered its judgment on Thackeray's tussle with Eknath Shinde.

Thackeray on May 11, 2023, said, "If the current CM is even slightly ethical, he and the Deputy CM should resign, like I did."

"SC said that if I had not resigned, I might have been made CM again. I'm not fighting for myself. My fight is for the people, my country, my state," he added.

Referring to his meeting with Nitish and Tejashwi, Uddhav said, "Disputes are common in politics, but we are now of the same view that we have to save the country, save the Constitution."
