A furious Sharmistha Mukherjee, the daughter of former president Pranab Mukherjee, has written an open letter to Rahul Gandhi claiming that his supporters have been trolling her on social media for criticising him.

Mukherjee said that ever since her book on her father was released she and the former president have been subjected to 'vilest abuse with sexual connotation'. She also flagged a X handle claiming that the man was formally or informally associated with the Congress party.

Mukherjee said that several Congress leaders allowed the man's account. In her letter she wrote that Rahul talks of 'mohabbat ki dukaan' but his own supporters are unleashing 'nafrat' or hate. She also referred to Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and said she demands 'nyay' or justice as an ordinary citizen.
