Report: ECI seizes 66 kg silverwares worth Rs 39 lakhs belonging to Boney Kapoor

The Election Commission of India has seized 66 kg of silverware allegedly belonging to film producer Boney Kapoor in poll-bound Karnataka's Davangere, as per an India Today report.

As per the report, the silverwares worth Rs 39 lakhs were seized at the check post neat Hebbalu toll in the wee hours of Friday. The silverware was reportedly being transported without proper documentation in a BMW car from Chennai to Mumbai. 

Following the seizure, a case against the driver and another man accompanying him was filed at Davangere rural police station. 

During the initial probe, Hari Singh, the man with the driver, confessed that the articles belonged to Boney Kapoor's family.
