Even as Opposition parties are pitching for President Murmu to inaugurate the new Parliament, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has said that instead of PM, Lok Sabha Speaker should inaugurate the building.
Speaking to reporters, Owaisi said that according to the Constitution, the Lok Sabha Speaker is entitled to inaugurate the Parliament building, not the PM.
AIMIM will skip the ceremony for the opening of the new Parliament building on May 28 if it is launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Owaisi added.
