BJP leader Khusbu Sundar has defended her 2018 tweet which went viral in the wake of Rahul Gandhi's conviction in a defamation case for linking the surname Modi to thieves.

Sundar, then a Congress member, had tweeted that the Modi surname is linked to corruption.

'Let's change the meaning of Modi to corruption.. suits better,' she had tweeted.

Defending herself, Sundar said that she is not ashamed of her older tweet as she was only following the party leader and speaking the language of the Congress party.

She also said that Congress is digging up her old tweets because thet are desperate.
