After Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra demanded cross-examining businessman Darshan Hiranandani in a cash-for-query allegation, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey jibed Moitra by calling her 'Dubai Didi' saying as per rules, witnesses are protected from "court-kachehri'.
In a post on X, pointing to an apparent typo, Dubey said, "The accused MP is so addicted to Dubai that even my name has been changed to Dubai in the letter written to the Chairman of the Ethics Committee. Mohtarma has described her mental condition by changing my name to Dubey,".
He further attacked the TMC MP saying, "Dubai Didi asked some people for cross-examination, under the rules of Lok Sabha, especially page 246 of the Kaul-Shakdhar book, the witness is protected from court, court and hue and cry. Khata Na Bahi Dubai Didi, whatever she says is right. Answer is needed on national security and corruption, here is the preparation for the arena."
Notably, Moita on October 27 wrote to the chief of ethics panel seeking a fresh date to appear before it in an alleged bribery case.
