The EC has granted 3 more weeks to the Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar factions of NCP to respond to their notices related to the party's name and official symbol.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the NCP chief faction had sought four weeks in a letter written to the poll panel.

With a fresh directive, both factions will need to file a reply on Sept 8.

Notably, after Ajit Pawar defected and joined hands with the BJP, he staked claims on the party name and symbol.

Meanwhile, the NCP chief hit back at his nephew and approached EC.
