The political drama in Maharashtra sparked by NCP leader Ajit Pawar's rebellion continued late into the night on July 3.
NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad, part of the Sharad Pawar faction, visited the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker's office late at night.
Sharad Pawar's camp named Awhad as the new Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly after Ajit Pawar joined the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance.
Awhad reportedly said that all NCP MLAs will have to "abide" by his whip.
