Congress MP Karti Chidambaram has backed defended Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin's son Udaynidhi for saying that 'sanatana dharma' should be abolished.
Karti said that 'sanatana dharma' is the code for a caste-hierarchical society and those batting for it come from the privileged segment who are beneficiaries of this hierarchy.
He also lashed out at the BJP for saying that Udaynidhi Stalin was calling for a genocide of the followers of 'sanatana dharma'. He called BJP's statement a 'mischievous spin'.
