Chaos erupted in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday as DMK TR Baalu said Minister of State L Murugan was 'unfit' to be an MP. BJP leaders said Baalu's remark was discriminatory and demanded an apology.

Baalu while accusing the Centre of discriminating against Tamil Nadu and not giving the state appropriate funds for flood relief had called L Murugan 'unfit to be an MP and minister' when the BJP leader intervened.

His remark sparked an uproar in the House with Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi and Arjun Meghwal demanding TR Baalu's apology. They accused the DMK MP of caste discrimination by calling a dalit minister 'unfit'.
