The Aam Aadmi Party has decided to repeat its candidates for the Delhi Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections scheduled for April 26.
While Shelly Oberoi will contest for the Mayor seat, Aaley Muhammad Iqbal will contest for the deputy Mayor post for a second term in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Both candidates filed their nominations on Monday. They were accompanied by Delhi Minister Atishi and AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
Notably, the MCD annual cycle starts on April 1 every year. Last year, the unification of the three municipal corporations process impacted the annual cycle among other reasons.
