Congress-NC alliance bags 22 out of 26 seats in Ladakh council polls

In a big boost, the National Conference and Congress have together won 22 seats defeating the BJP in the LAHDC polls with the counting of votes still underway, officials said on Sunday.

Notably, this is the first-ever poll in J&K after Article 370 was scrapped in 2019.

The elections to 26 seats were held on October 4.

According to the officials, the National Conference (NC) has so far won 12 seats while its ally Congress registered victory in 10. The BJP managed to win just two seats, while independent candidates registered victories on two seats.
