BJP MP Varun Gandhi has yet again criticised his own party and the Centre, saying that the govt brought Cheetahs from Africa and allowed them to die. Expressing his concern, Gandhi termed it as both cruel and negligence urging stronger focus on conserving India's endangered species.

Gandhi's remarks came in response to an announcement by Cheetah project head, who said more big cats will be imported from Africa and introduced into MP's Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Responding to the statement, Gandhi on X said, " Importing cheetahs from Africa and allowing nine of them to die in a foreign land is not just cruelty, it's an appalling display of negligence. We should focus on conserving our own endangered species and habitats rather than contributing to the suffering of these magnificent creatures. This reckless pursuit of exotic animals must end immediately, and we should prioritise the welfare of our native wildlife instead."
