The Karnataka High Court on Friday took cognizance in the Bengaluru metro pillar collapse case that killed a 28-year-old techie and her two-year-old son on January 10, 2023. The under-construction metro pillar fell on a bike that the woman and her child were riding on. The pillar, made of metal rods, was about 40 feet high.

Following the fatal incident, 3 Bengaluru metro officials were suspended in connection with the case.

Meanwhile, officials from Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad surveyed and inspected the raw materials to corroborate evidence on what caused the cage to fall.
